Focus 2 Achieve

Innovate Create Educate

I blog on Brain-Based Learning, Metacognition, and Social-Emotional Learning. I am the author of "Crush School: Every Student's Guide To Killing It In The Classroom" which is a book that helps students understand how their brain processes information and learns. In the book, I explain why students can learn anything and give strategies on how to learn effectively.

1. Writing. It is my superpower. I am passionate about education and blog regularly about improving teaching and learning through innovative strategies and brain-based approaches. I am also a featured BAM Radio Network blogger. I published my first book: Crush School: Every Student's Guide To Killing It In The Classroom in July, 2016. Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to write for you.

2. Teaching. I love learning. I love to create innovative classroom products and teaching strategies that help teachers teach and students learn. I love teaching students and enjoy sharing strategies I find effective with teachers just as much.

3. Creating Infographics. I make informational graphics (infographics) on effective teaching and learning strategies, metacognition, and design thinking.

4. Speaking is something I enjoy doing as an educator. I have led Professional Development sessions on teaching/learning using technology and literacy. I am passionate about and appreciate opportunities to speak about the process of learning and teaching students how to learn, brain based strategies, flexible seating, collaborative learning, blended learning, and using educational technology to enhance learning.
