I blog on Brain-Based Learning, Metacognition, and Social-Emotional Learning. I am the author of "Crush School: Every Student's Guide To Killing It In The Classroom" which is a book that helps students understand how their brain processes information and learns. In the book, I explain why students can learn anything and give strategies on how to learn effectively.

The Focus Method: Learning Reflection is an activity designed to help students reflect on their learning and make decisions based on their assessment of how well they remember and understand the material. They answer 4 questions related to learning during the week, so the activity can be used as a Friday warm up/wind down activity and repeated weekly, or a teacher can choose to use it periodically as a way to have students constructively look at their own learning and progress.
