I blog on Brain-Based Learning, Metacognition, and Social-Emotional Learning. I am the author of "Crush School: Every Student's Guide To Killing It In The Classroom" which is a book that helps students understand how their brain processes information and learns. In the book, I explain why students can learn anything and give strategies on how to learn effectively.

Chapter 7 explains why habits are so hard to break and how to make new habits effectively. Here's a sample:

Some habits are not so good. And, they are hard to break. Your teachers and parental units are on your case to STOP IT, whatever IT is. You try. Not happening. You tell yourself you will not procrastinate this time around. Then you do. You have the best intentions. I know. You know. But your brain doesn’t care. It does it’s own thing.

You have to train your brain.

This book will show you how.
