I blog on Brain-Based Learning, Metacognition, and Social-Emotional Learning. I am the author of "Crush School: Every Student's Guide To Killing It In The Classroom" which is a book that helps students understand how their brain processes information and learns. In the book, I explain why students can learn anything and give strategies on how to learn effectively.

Chapter 11 focuses on focus aka not multitasking, but you're not just told not to multitask. You're given strategies that help you focus better.

Alright. Alright. You probably won’t die if you continue to multitask, but just imagine if a knife juggler decided to text mom during one of his acts. Bad idea. Blood, fingers, eyeballs, possibly guts, everywhere!

Don’t do that. Do this:

Stick to one task at a time.

Prioritize.

Use the Pomodoro Technique.
